Hello!

My name is Natasha D'Agui, and I like to bake.

I used to feel sick quite often. I was prescribed different meds and creams for rashes and symptoms that didn't really have a cause. I eventually saw a homeopath and she suggested trying to eliminate wheat and dairy from my diet. Soon after, the symptoms started to diminish and I started to feel better. I had a hard time following such a restricted diet as a child, so I chose pain over health. However, I started to realize that gluten wasn't worth the way I felt. I knew I had to change the way I ate and I decided to switch to a gluten reduced diet.

I found it very difficult to find sweets to eat made from grains that I could tolerate. I would buy desserts that were expensive and unsatisfying. I decided to try making my own and eventually I became really good at it.

Around the same time I started baking, I started a holistic nutrition course whose teachings are based on ancient ways of eating and living. I was amazed by the beneficial and nutritional qualities of flour like quinoa, kamut, spelt and brown rice. Nutritious and delicious!

Baking with alternative flour definitely had its challenges at first, but like anything, practice makes perfect! I practiced by baking cakes for birthdays, making loaves for breakfasts and cookies for snacks. I realized my baked goods are not only tasty for gluten free desserts, but they were just delicious in general. This pushed me to try new recipes and also to create my own.

Goldengredients is unique in that you basically build what you like.  You aren't limited to anything but your own dietary restrictions. I offer a list of ingredients, but my list is always growing and I encourage you to request any ingredient you want.
